Minutes 9/12/2002

MEMBER ATTENDANCE: Michael Caffrey, Bill Hursh, Betty Soltys, and, Mike Stasak.

Call to order: 8:45 PM by Michael Caffrey.

Review and acceptance of 8/8/2002 minutes – Motion by Bill Hursh, seconded by Mike Stasak. Approved by all members.

8:45 – 9:30 – Crawford Park Equipment.

• Soccer goals, nets, flags, line equipment.
• Construction of the building including storage of equipment, snack bar, rest rooms.
• Upgrading the playing surfaces of the fields as determined by a professional turf organization.

Recommendation: The Board recommends that the Township budget for Phase II of Crawford Park. This includes the purchase of soccer equipment, construction of a building with rest rooms and upgrading of the playing surfaces. Motion by Mike Caffrey, seconded by Bill Hursh. All members voted in favor.

• The parking lot construction is complete.

9:30 – 9:35 – Flag raising and flag retirement ceremonies were well attended and in good taste.

9:35 to 9:40 – Park Updates

• Delta Manor – Tom Black.
• Municipal Park – Mike Stasak
• No new issues.
• Village View – Mike Stasak
• No new issues.
• Troxell – Bill Hursh
• The addition of benches closer to the play area is needed.
• Crawford – Dean Koski
• No new issues.
• College Heights – Mary Ellen O’Connell
• Westgate – Betty Soltys
• Will request some new benches in the new budget.
• Pharo – Mike Caffrey
• No new issues.
• Birchwood – Mike Caffrey
• No new issues.
• Macada North – Mary Ellen O’Connell
• No new issues.

9:40 to 9:45 – Other issues.

• The park in the future Jaindl Farms is expected to be 8+ acres.

• Suggestions for the land donated by Wegman’s are the creation of a natural wooded area with walking paths and the possibility of the installation of a band shell.
• There is a group of cricket players utilizing Municipal Park. The RAB will investigate more accommodation for.

9:45– Motion to close the meeting by Betty Soltys, seconded by Mike Stasak. All members voted in favor.

Next meeting scheduled for Thursday, October 10, 2002.
