7:45:    HTCC Director’s Report:

·        Pool membership:  The current pool visitor’s totals to date are 40% higher than those from 2004.  The revenue received has increased by 35% from 2004.

7:55:    Village View Park:

·        Residents Dave and Leeanne Eck attended the meeting to inform us that there has been an increase of children in their neighborhood.  They indicated that the development is now being populated with younger families, current houses on the market are being pursued by   families with young children, and grandchildren are living/staying with grandparents in the development.  Because of this, they are requesting that the existing playground be upgraded and the parks program be reinstated.  Mrs. Eck indicated that she would work with the RAB in speaking to all the residents in the area in order to determine the current demographics to warrant this request.  She also thought that in doing so, it would help to continue to attract people to the area.

8:20:    Playgrounds – Crawford, College Heights, and Delta Manor:

·        Karen Kennedy and Mike Stasak received 3 bids from each of three playground representatives for Crawford, College Heights, and Delta Manor. The information was reviewed by the Recreation Advisory Board and the following recommendation is being made to the Board of Supervisors:

Crawford:  The Recreation Advisory Board recommends the playground developed by Bitting Recreation.  This includes a tot lot for 2-5 year olds and a larger play structure for 5 –12 year olds.  We also recommend adding a talk tube to the 5-12 year structure.

Delta Manor:  The Recreation Advisory Board recommends adding a new slide, a new climbing mound and a new traditional swing set with 2 children and 2 toddler seats.  This would be provided by the Bear/W.O.W. Company.

College Heights:  The Recreation Advisory Board recommends a new climbing mound and a new traditional swing set with 3 children seats and 1 toddler by the Bear/W.O.W. Company.

All drawings, pricing, and installation information is being submitted to Jim Sterner and Jay Finnigan for review.

9:20:    Park Reports:

·        Crawford Park:  The Recreation Advisory Board recommends planting trees along both the north and south end of the parking macadam to deter automobiles from driving onto and potentially damaging the soccer fields.

9:35:    Other matters:

·        Grant money:  The Recreation Advisory Board recommends pursuing grant money from the state and county for open space for improving our parks.

9:55      Motion to adjourn meeting by Betty Soltys.  Seconded by Karen Kennedy.    All members voted in favor.
