Minutes 12/08/05

 

MEMBER ATTENDANCE:  Betty Soltys, Karen Kennedy, Bob Roll, Alex Sahaydak, Steve Crump, and Bill Hursh

 

Call to order:  7:40 PM by Betty Soltys, seconded by Karen Kennedy.  Approved by all members.

 

Review of minutes from October 2005:  Motion to approve by Bob Roll, seconded by Alex Sahaydak.  Approved by all members.

 

7:45:­   HTCC Director’s Report:

·        2006 represents HTCC’s 10th year in business.  Many celebrations will be held throughout the year, including a 10% discount for new members on 1/8/06

 

·        Membership fees for 2006 will remain the same.  Rental fees for field use, gym use, as well as fees for several programs will increase.  This information will be provided in more detail in the near future.

 

·        Repairs to the pool are 99% complete.  The pool will be covered for the winter as of 12/12/05

 

 

7:50:   Discussion with Jay Finnigan:

·        Suggestions were made to improve communications between the Township Manager, Board of Directors, the Park and Recreation Advisory Board and other Boards in the Township.  Jay suggested having a representative attend monthly Board meetings and report information to the RAB at the next monthly meeting.  Another suggestion was to follow up with the Township Manager on outstanding items that appear in the monthly minutes. 

 

·        Betty requested receiving a list of responsibilities and meeting with Chairpersons of other Advisory Boards in order to gain a better understanding of how these Boards operate.  Jay stated that he would provide Betty with a list of this information.

 

·        Discussions regarding the planting of shade trees at various parks in the Township are still ongoing.

 

·        Hanover Engineering will review the Long Range Planning Report recently submitted to the Township.
