-           Parks/Recreation Open Space Plan

Cathy Heimsoth informed us that she is in the process of obtaining information from several sources regarding the Township’s Long Range Planning.  She suggested that the Park and Rec. Board contact the National Park and Recreation Association as a good starting point to help facilitate this project.

8:30 – 9:05      Long Range Planning

-           Two Board members did research on other parks in our region and were informed that certain parks are using a new method to determine park use.  The method of categorizing space is now based on the number of visits to the parks, not solely on overall township population. Also, there is currently a higher demand for open space and a lower demand for planned parks.  This information will be very helpful as we continue to plan our future parks.
