MEMBER ATTENDANCE: Dean Koski, Michael Caffrey, Michael Stasak, Mary Ellen O’Connell.

Call to order: 7:35 PM by Dean Koski.

Review and acceptance of 11/8/2001 minutes – Motion by Mike Caffrey, seconded by Mike Stasak. Approved by all members.

7:40 – 7:50 – Township resident Thomas Black of 1321 Cherry Avenue, Bethlehem, PA. 18017, 610-861-4763, tom.black@bbmus.com presented himself for consideration for appointment to the Recreation Advisory Board.

7:50 to 8:00 – Board discussion regarding Thomas Black. Recommendation: The Board recommends that Thomas Black be appointed to the Recreation Advisory Board to fill the seat vacated by Joan Sarno. Motion by Mike Stasak, seconded by Mary Ellen O’Connell. Approved by all members.

8:00 – 8:05 – Dean Koski nominated by Mike Caffrey for another term as Chairman of the Recreation Advisory Board. Seconded by Mike Stasak. Approved by all members.

8:05 – 8:10 – Election of new board secretary tabled until the February meeting. All members approved.

8:10 – 8:20 – Crawford Park update. Township Planner and Township Engineer will provide updated plans for Crawford Park in time for February Board meeting.

8:20 – 8:25 – Recommendation: After the Township meets its obligation to remove snow from public streets and walkways, the township should make a reasonable and practical attempt to remove snow from the heavily traveled park walkways. This will provide access to park equipment, for walking and biking recreation. Motion by Mike Caffrey, seconded by Mary Ellen O’Connell. Approved by all members.

8:25 – 8:35 – Recommendation: All recommendations remain active and reviewed during monthly meetings until a decision is rendered by the Board of Supervisors and the Recreation Board votes to close. Motion by Dean Koski, seconded by Mary Ellen O’Connell. Approved by all members.

8:35 – 8:55 – Directors Report:

• Community Center ended last year under budget while the pool came in over budget.
• A summer pool manager is being sought. Recreation Director is seeking qualified applicants.
• A Community Center employee handbook is being assembled.
• A part time supervisor has been hired at the Community Center.
• Young at Heart Ice Cream Social – January 22, 2002.
• Computer Literacy seminar will be held April 18, 2002.

8:55 – Motion by Mary Ellen O’Connell to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Mike Caffrey. Approved by all members.
