7:55 to 8:40 – Recreation Director Update.
- The HTCC Pre-school offerings have grown from 2 classes to 6 classes. There is a suggestion to create a stand-alone support corporation, filed as a 501C3 Non-profit/tax exempt corporation, to assist in fund raising through grant writing to be used for increasing programming at the HTCC. The Recreation Director has requested 2 RAB members to attend a preliminary meeting for further discussions on July 24th at 7 PM at the HTCC.
- Summer programs have had very strong participation in all areas including the Hearts to Parks program.
- New program to be introduced during this fall called Women-to-Women for networking between Township women. Meetings would include guest speakers on various topics.
Recreation Advisory Board members have received some very positive feedback regarding the conditions of our parks through continual upgrading and maintenance provided by the Township staff. This Board thanks Kevin Healy and his crew for the excellent job they do keeping our many parks in pristine conditions to the enjoyment of our Township Residents.
8:40 – 9:15 – Pool Shade/Pool Revenues.
- The shade structures are now 3 weeks late due to vendor issues.
9:15 - 9:30 – Biking/Walking Trails Update
- County grant money is available for general recreation and for rails to trails construction.
- The Hanover Township trail map has been reviewed with Hanover Engineering and is in the process of being updated. The revised map will be shared with the Board of Supervisors and the Planning commission so future development can include proposed plans.
9:30 – 9:35 – Handicap Access to the pool.
- The existing equipment meets the current ADA requirements, but is very manually intensive and requires the handicapped person to seek assistance to be used. Further fund-raising planning will be reviewed.
9:35 – 9:50 – Crawford Park.
- The blueprints for the utility building to be built at Crawford Park were approved by the Board of Supervisors. Hanover Engineering has been approved to begin receiving bids for the construction.
- The north end of the walking path between Crawford Rd. and Harriet Lane is a good candidate for new trees if available from the Shade Tree Commission.
- An additional turf contractor suggested fertilizing the turf only to make it ready for fall play.
Recommendation: The RAB recommends that the Township rolls and applies weed/feed to the Crawford playing fields to make them ready for the fall season. Further review of the conditions, after the fall season, will be made to identify if additional improvements are necessary. All members vote in favor.
9:50 to 9:55 – Park Updates - Mike Stasak has agreed to create a display of all township parks including, facts and pictures, highlighting key attributes.

The land will be part of the wooded lot and will be able to be used to access Delta Manor Park from that development. In addition, Delta Manor Park will need to be upgraded.
