Call to order : 8:27pm by Dean Koski

PARK SURVEY

Tom Black to develop a rough draft of a survey form for all parks. Form to be presented at July meeting. Form to be utilized to determine park usage, new requirements, safety concerns, etc..

PARK INSPECTION

Recommendation: Betty recommended that we look into having a Recreation Advisory board representative certified to inspect each park throughout the year, rather than pay to have them inspected. Dean Koski stated this would need to be addressed by the Recreation Advisory Board.

POOL MANAGEMENT

Cathy Heimsoth informed the board of the recent issue the Community Center had with the new pool manager. The assistant manager has been promoted to manager on a probationary period. The concession stand has been doing "well" thus far.

NEW TREES

Betty Soltys brought in quotes from (3) different nurseries for trees to outline the pool. The three nurseries are Chris Lawn Care, Tall Timbers Nursery, and Gardenique. Quotes ranged from $120 per tree to $198 per tree depending on size. The two trees quoted were Colorado and Norway spruce.

The board members discussed the need for shade within the fenced-in area.

Recommendation: Dean Koski recommended that Betty speak with either Joan Whitiak, or the Shade Tree Committee what they recommend and or have approved for the pool area.

SMOKING IN POOL AREA

Recommendation: Dean Koski recommended that we eliminate smoking in the pool area. Currently smoking is allowed near the kid’s pool. If approved, the current signs would be taken down and new signs noting "Smoke-Free Area" would be placed along the fence. Motion by Dean Koski, seconded by Michael Stasak. All members voted in favor.

COMMUNITY DAY SURVEY RESULTS

Per Michael Stasak, most of the feedback from the community day survey was positive. The only negatives were directed at the men's basketball league. Another response was the request for a 1/4 mile track in the township. One of the comments from the meeting was that the survey may have taken too long to complete. We need to make such surveys easier (multiple choice, yes/no) for individuals to complete.

PARK ASSIGNMENTS

TROXELL - Dean Koski noted that there is too much graffiti at Troxell Park.

DELTA MANOR - Tom Black noted that nothing has changed since the May meeting park assignment presentation noting that there is need for mulch at each of the playground equipment pieces, especially at the slide.

Submitted by Tom Black.
