MEMBER ATTENDANCE:  Karen Kennedy, Alex Sahaydak, Mike Stasak, and Betty Soltys

 

Call to order:  7:45 PM by Betty Soltys, seconded by Alex Sahaydak. 

 

Review and approval of minutes from August 2006:  Motion to approve by Alex Sahaydak, seconded by Mike Stasak.

 

7:50:  Discussion of Heritage Day Festival Plans:

·        The Heritage Day Festival is scheduled for Saturday, November 11, 2006, from 9:00am to 1:00 pm.

 

·        The Recreation Advisory Board’s plans during the festival are to provide a display of the various parks located in Hanover Township, distribute to residents a survey about the parks, discuss the role of the RAB including how residents can get involved, and answer any questions residents may have.

 

7:55:  Budget:

·        A preliminary budget was prepared by several members of  the Recreation Advisory Board and forwarded to the Township Manager for review.

 

8:00:  Prospects for Board Members:

 

·        The Recreation Advisory Board is currently seeking prospects for new Board Members.  Several people were contacted and we are currently awaiting their responses.

 

8:05:  HTCC Report:

 

·        One of the Township’s newest programs, the Hanover Soccer Academy, has experienced great success!  Currently, there are 102 members enrolled. 

 

·        Raffle tickets are being sold for a drawing to be held on Heritage Day, November 11, 2006.

 

·        Another new program was implemented at the HTCC called Nifty Fifty.  The program is designed to attract individuals ages 45 – 60.

 

·        It has come to the attention of the HTCC Director that the Bethlehem Soccer Club is interested in seeking any additional soccer space within the Township.  

 

8:55:  Parks Survey:

 

·        The parks survey will be completed and posted on the Hanover Township web site in addition to being distributed to residents on Heritage Day.

 

9:05:  Parks Report:

 

·        Westgate Park:  More mulch needs to be distributed under the swings.  Additionally, three trees need replacing.

 

·        There is nothing to report from the other parks in the Township.

 

9:10:   Motion to Adjourn:

·        Betty Soltys motioned to adjourn the meeting

·        Alex Sahaydak seconded the motion

 

 

 

Next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, November 9, 2006.
