Hanover Township Shade Tree Commission Meeting

April 15, 2002

The monthly meeting of the Shade Tree Commission was held at the Hanover Township Municipal Building, 3630 Jacksonville Road, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania 18017 at 6:30 P.M.

In attendance were Joan Witiak, Jeff Waldron, David Zakeski and Daniel Roman.

1. Upon motion of Jeff Waldron, seconded by Daniel Roman, the Commission approved the minutes from the meeting of the Shade Tree Commission dated March 18, 2002.

2. Review tree list:

An updated street tree list was recently received from Julianne Schieffer of Penn State University.

3. Discuss permits:

The first 5 permits that are near expiration will be checked for status before reminders are sent out.

4. Review LVCC Phase II, Lots 7 & 8:

There was still some question as to which trees were counted as small, medium and large for landscape calculations. Some large trees are planted very close to buildings.

5. Discuss pruning:

A trip was taken to evaluate the two beech trees in Troxell Park. It was unanimously agreed that these trees would be replaced because of poor shape and trunk problems.

6. New business

None.

The meeting adjourned at 8:55 p.m.
