2. Report on Hanover Pointe: Joan Witiak spoke with the landscape architect who has agreed to use disease- and pest-resistant tree varieties in exchange for clumping trees on each street. The same varieties will be used for replacement trees.
Bennigan’s: Joan Witiak met with the representatives of Bennigan’s, Jim Sterner, and Mike Schmalzer of Hanover Engineering to discuss removal of a large Norway maple tree on Schoenersville Rd. that will block the view of a sign. Bennigan’s will give the township three larger trees in exchange for the Norway maple, to be planted in the Municipal Park.
Patriot Bank: Joan Witiak will meet with representatives of Patriot Bank, Jim Sterner, and Mike Schmalzer of Hanover Engineering tomorrow to discuss removal of additional trees on the Patriot Bank construction site.
3. Discuss Permits: The names of several residents who have not returned permits after being notified in July will be turned over to the Township.
4. Discuss Park Tree Planting: Patriot Bank will plant in late October or early November. Dan Roman will present the planting plan to the Supervisors at an upcoming meeting for approval.
Dan Roman will discuss the planting location for the Bennigan’s donated trees with Kevin Healy.
5. Discuss 2004 Budget: The cost for mulching, pruning, and watering of the park trees was discussed. A budget proposal will be finalized for the next meeting.
Dan Roman reported that some trees have been vandalized in Troxell Park and Macada North Park. He will take photos of the trees and report this to the Recreation Advisory person assigned to the respective parks. We will reconsider planting any new trees in these parks until this issue is resolved.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:35 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
