HANOVER TOWNSHIP SHADE TREE ADVISORY COMMISSION MEETING

 

February 25, 2008

 

 

The monthly meeting of the Shade Tree Advisory Commission was held at the Hanover Township Municipal Building, 3630 Jacksonville Rd., Bethlehem, PA 18017, at 6:30 PM.

 

In attendance were Joan Witiak, David Zakeski, Daniel Roman, and Susan Scholl.

 

 

1.      Upon motion of David Zakeski, seconded by Joan Witiak, the minutes of the January 28, 2008, STAC meeting were approved.

 

2.      Review Permits:  Susan Scholl reported on five new permits that were submitted to the Zoning Officer for mailing over a week ago.  They have not been mailed yet and have not been added to the official list.  Several permits are expiring without a replacement, and they will be submitted to the Zoning Officer.

 

3.      Park Tree Planting:  Between 25 and 30 trees will be planted this spring in several parks.  Daniel Roman will work with the Public Works Director with locations. 

 

4.      Mulching Bid Request:   Bid requests were sent to five landscapers for the mulching of 571 trees.  The sealed bids are due in the Township Office by March 10, 2008.

 

5.      Review Commerce Bank:  The requested corrections were made to the previous plan.  A minimum of $330/tree in lieu of replacement trees on site is the market price.

 

Review Innovation Wellness Center:  The requested corrections were made to the previous plan.   However, even though not required, more large deciduous trees instead of landscape beds would be desirable.

           

6.      Old/New Business:   The Becker Minor Subdivision is missing a required tree on Jacksonville Rd.  The Zoning Officer will be informed.

 

 

The meeting was adjourned at 7:57 p.m.

 

The next meeting is Monday, March 31, 2008, at 6:30 pm.
