1.  APPROVE MINUTES OF JANUARY 29, 2007 MEETING:  Motion was made by Susan  Scholl,

seconded by Linda Taylor.  Approved unanimously.

2.  REVIEW PERMITS:  Susan Scholl distributed Permit Lists and discussed reminder notices sent to residents.  Discussion was held regarding permits which have expired without replacement trees being planted, and when they would be turned over to the Township for further action.

3.  PARK TREE PLANTING:  Dan Roman, Master Gardener, stated that the 30 trees authorized last fall had been planted satisfactorily by Root’s Nursery.  Discussion was held about wet areas of the Township and proper trees to plant in these soil conditions. Cypress trees were used as an example of a tree which thrives in wet soil conditions, with a beautiful planting in the Graver Arboretum on Rte. 512.  STAC discussed areas in the Township where tree planting is needed.  Dan described the proper method of planting trees and stressed how important watering is to young trees.

4.  PARK TREE MULCHING BID REQUESTS:  Dave Zakeski stated all information is ready to be sent out for bids on mulching the park trees this spring.  Dan stated that mulch is unnecessarily high around some trees and needs to be raked down to insure healthy trees.  The bids must be sealed and will be opened by the Supervisors on March 27, 2007.
