HANOVER TOWNSHIP SHADE TREE ADVISORY COMMISSION MEETING

 

January 28, 2008

 

 

The monthly meeting of the Shade Tree Advisory Commission was held at the Hanover Township Municipal Building, 3630 Jacksonville Rd., Bethlehem, PA 18017, at 6:30 PM.

 

In attendance were Joan Witiak, David Zakeski, and Ann Shanley.

 

 

1.      Upon motion of David Zakeski, seconded by Ann Shanley, the minutes of the January 7, 2008, STAC meeting were approved.

 

2.      Review Permits:  Susan Scholl had submitted updated permit listings which were reviewed.

 

3.      Park Tree Planting:  A discussion was held concerning the number of park trees for the next planting and how to obtain them.

 

4.      Mulching Bid Request:   A discussion was held concerning the number of trees to be mulched and the use of Round-up.  Request for bids will be sent to five landscaping contractors.

 

5.      Review Ungerer & Co. Land Development:  There were some errors with tree notations on the plans and the number of trees needed.

 

Review Innovation Wellness Center:  The landscape calculation indicates that more large deciduous trees are needed.    

           

6.      Old/New Business:  A list of certified arborists will be obtained for referral, if residents call for tree service information.

A discussion was held on topping and the permit and replacement tree process for input for the Zoning Officer.

 

 

The meeting was adjourned at 7:42 p.m.

 

The next meeting is Monday, February 25, 2008, at 6:30 pm.
