The May meeting of the Shade Tree Advisory
Commission was held on
In attendance were Joan Witiak and Susan Scholl. Because there was not a quorum present, no
action could be taken.
1. Outstanding permits were discussed with Susan and Joan making some follow-up phone calls. Reminder notices will be sent for permits expiring this summer.
2. Planting sites for a late
fall tree planting will be selected in Pointe North Park.
3. Dave was not present for a watering bid report. The deadline for submission was May 2.
4. Review of LVIP IV, Lot 42 Expansion: The additional trees to be planted are all
specified as ash. Because of the threat
of the ash borer, we will recommend that another variety be added to the list.
5. Review of Traditions of America: There were many problems with this plan that will be addressed in a comment letter to the Supervisors.
6. New/Old Business: Several properties with “topped” trees have
been sighted in the Township ROW. How to
deal with this deadly practice was discussed.
