HANOVER TOWNSHIP SHADE TREE ADVISORY COMMISSION MEETING

 

September 25, 2006

 

 

The monthly meeting of the Shade Tree Advisory Commission was held at the Hanover Township Municipal Building, 3630 Jacksonville Rd., Bethlehem, PA 18017, at 6:30 PM.

 

In attendance were Joan Witiak, Susan Scholl, David Zakeski, and Daniel Roman.

 

1.      Upon motion of Susan Scholl, seconded by David Zakesky, the minutes of the September 5, 2006, STAC meeting were approved.

 

2.      Review Permits:  Permits to expire this fall were reviewed.  Susan Scholl will call homeowners to remind them to plant the replacement tree.  Several expired permits will be turned over to the Township for further action.

 

3.      Park Tree Pruning:  We will walk the parks and mark the young trees that need pruning the week of October 9^th.

 

4.      Fall Tree Planting Bid:  Dan Roman sent out a bid request for a fall planting in the parks after we walked the parks on September 13, 2006, and identified locations. 

 

5.      Review Traditions of America:  Several items were missing on the plans.  There are still concerns with the planting of replacement trees in the wooded area.

 

Review Lot 2, Hanover Highlands, Sotel Enterprises:  The landscape calculations must be revised.  

 

6.      Discuss 2007 Budget:  The STAC budget for 2007 will be submitted to the Township by September 30, 2006. 

 

7.      Old/New Business: 

 

In September, four trees were planted in the islands at the Crawford Park parking lot.

 

The next meeting will be held on Monday, October 30, 2006, at 6:30 pm.

 

 

The meeting was adjourned at 7:50 P.M.
