Hanover Township Shade Tree Commission Meeting

September 17, 2001

The monthly meeting of the Shade Tree Commission was held at the Hanover Township Municipal Building, 3630 Jacksonville Road, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania 18017 at 6:30 P.M.

In attendance were Joan Witiak, Daniel Roman, Jeff Waldron, and guest David Zakeski. Absent was Susan Gibisser.

Upon motion of Joan Witiak, seconded by Jeff Waldron, the Commission approved the agenda.

1. Upon motion of Jeff Waldron, seconded by Daniel Roman, the Commission approved the minutes from the meeting of the Shade Tree Commission dated August 20, 2001.

2. Not all bids for the new trees have been received.

3. Review plans

a. Church on the Move: Street trees appear to be 75 feet apart.

b. St. Luke's Dialysis Parking Expansion: No trees are shown on the plan. Is it incomplete?

c. Selko Development: Ok but request substitution for American Red Maples.

4. Reviewed 5 Shade Tree permits and identified 2 to be checked for the next meeting.

5. Revised permit form will be finalized at next meeting.

6. New business:

Discussed the state of American red maples trees throughout the Township. Recommend that they be removed from the approved tree list in the Construction Standards in SALDO.

The meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
