Minutes 5/10/01

MEMBERS PRESENT: Dean, Koski, Micheal Caffrey, Mary Ellen O'Connell, Joan Sarno, Betty Soltys, Chris Marshall & Mike Stasak

Call to order: 7:40 pm by Dean Koski

Review and acceptance of 4/01 minutes: motion of Mary Ellen O'Connell, seconded Betty Soltys; approved by all members

7:45-8:25 HTPR Director: Cathy Heimsoth

• Priority: Secure assistant pool manager

• Eagle Scout Project: running track around HTCC

• Safety: Area on Jacksonville Rd. in front of HTCC driveway - cars speeding

• Ready to Read Program: 5/23/01

8:25-8:32 Pharo Park: M. Caffrey

Mike has selected swing sets based on our input (see previous minutes) recommendation by Board: start bid process and make every effort to have swings installed before start of summer park program.

8:32 - 9:00 Crawford Park: Koski

Dean will submit formal plan/recommendations to J. Sterner p/ Sterner's request in order of priority (see attached letter). Also, will request hiring professional planner to assist with implementation of plans.

9:00 - 9:15 Park Wish List: Koski

List distributed at meeting.

Recommendation by Board. review list before next meeting and continue discussion; submit letter to BOS concerning safety issues at some parks.

9:15- 9:30 Pool Issues:

Koski has recommended to Sterner that 40 umbrella sleeves be installed around pool area before pool opens for the season - Erin Michaels to assist with placement.

9:30 - 9:45 Miscellaneous/Wrap Up
