RECYCLING
What to recycle:
Glass jars and bottles - (Clear, green and brown)
Aluminum cans, steel cans, bi-metal cans
Plastics (PETE #1, HDPE #2) - Soda bottles, water and milk jugs, detergent bottles
Newspaper, magazines, colored news print, polycoated paper containers
How to's:
Cans, bottles and jars should be rinsed to remove food. Remove lids but put them in the container to be recycled. To conserve space, flatten cans and bottles. Please do not break glass.
Newspapers and magazines must be tied or placed in paper bags. Set on top of recycling container.
Please do not put plastic bags in your recycling container. It creates more garbage and makes recycling collection more difficult.
LEAVES/GRASS CLIPPINGS
| Grass | - | Mow your grass often, leaving any clippings on the lawn. If you have too much grass, bag it and put it with your regular trash. |
| Leaves | - | Follow Township policy. Do not set out with trash. The Township collects leaves from mid-October to the first full week of December. |
COMPOST CENTER
The Township upon agreement with the City of Bethlehem has secured the use of the Bethlehem Compost Center at Schoenersville Road and Eaton Avenue, for Township residents on a permit basis. Any resident, who wishes to use the facility, must first secure a permit at a cost of $10.00 per year from the Township. Permits must be secured before use.
